Youth Group is going to the Corn Maze tonight: Please meet at the church at 5:30. The Youth Group will pay for your corn maze entrance, a hot dog, chips and a soda. If you want more to eat, bring your own money. Friends are welcome...but reservations are required, so that we can plan on enough drivers! Please let Julia know if you plan on attending. Thank you to Meals on Wheels Drivers and CROP Walkers Thanks to everyone who walked for the CROP Walk and to all who drove for Meals on Wheels! We had a good turn-out for both Ground Breaking for Elevator Parking suggestions for the congregation: If you are able-bodied, give thanks to God!! (and park farther away from the doors). If you are mobility-challenged for any reason (heart, balance, broken-leg), we encourage you to park near the Education Wing doors or on Governor near the Office Entrance. Youth Christmas Musical: rehearsals begin today, October 11, from noon to 2:00 p.m. The Musical will be presented at 8:15 and 10:30 in the Sanctuary on December 13. We are looking for people who would be willing to sign up for a week to provide lunch to the kids involved in the musical. We will need someone each Sunday from October 11th through December 6th. Ruth Circle will hold their Annual Bake Sale on Sunday, October 18th, 8:00 a.m. until noon. The funds will be used for postage for the shoe box program. Having started our shoe boxes, we find we are in need of some more items: about 20 bars of soap about 20 toothpastes--trial size okay about 12 white t-shirts--sizes small or medium about 20 pencil holders. Thanks so much! Ruth Circle UMW Work Day—mark your calendar Can you sew, cut or iron? The UMW will be working on school bags on Thursday, October 22, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Round Room. You may bring your own lunch or for $5, we will pick up a 2 piece KFC dinner. The sign-up sheet is posted just outside the office. If you can’t come all day...come for part of the day! Hospitals: Buda Shofner is a patient at St. John’s Hospital and Marian Stone is a patient at Memorial Medical Center. There will be NO Chancel Choir rehearsal next Thursday, October 15th. There is a Lincoln Brewster concert on Thursday, October 15th at First United Methodist West at 7:00 p.m. Kumler Food Basket: For the month of October, canned meals will be collected. Place your items in the labeled tub in the Fellowship Area.
